Considerations

Why are silhouette products priced higher than many leather goods?

many leather makers reduce cost by simplifying materials and finishing steps. common shortcuts include thinner or corrected leather, plated zinc hardware, imported components, and skipping labor-intensive finishing such as edge burnishing.
silhouette products are built using thicker full grain leather imported from italy, solid metal hardware, and a slower construction process that prioritizes structure, repairability, and long-term use. these choices increase production time and material cost, but result in pieces designed to last rather than be replaced.

Why are your materials heavier than most?

silhouette uses thicker leather and solid hardware to prioritize structure and longevity. this results in products that feel firmer at first and develop character gradually with use.

What happens if something breaks or fails?

silhouette offers lifetime repairs for normal wear and failure. if a product can be repaired, it will be returned to service or replaced.

Will the leather change over time?

yes. natural leather softens, deepens in tone, and develops surface variation with use. these changes are expected and part of the material’s lifespan.
